COC celebrates an anniversary and makes a clear statement. Netherlands was once an LGBTQ+ rights pioneer. But that role is slowly disappearing now.

Nearly two decades ago, Netherlands allowed same-sex marriage. Many countries followed us since then. But today, Netherlands no longer leads globally. Other countries now surpass us in equal rights and gender recognition.

COC demands new policies to make Netherlands progressive again. They want better transgender protection and anti-discrimination laws. Also more inclusion in schools and workplaces. Not radical changes, but gradual inclusive society development.

Notably: COC appeals to everyone, not just LGBTQ+ community. Netherlands always valued its openness greatly. Reclaiming that reputation requires more effort now.
