Exhibitionism is a little-known sexual practice. Yet it exists within the gay community. An anonymous man shares his experience. He has practised exhibitionism for several years.

For him, displaying himself is not trivial. It is a form of intimate performance. He offers his body to another's gaze. The voyeur becomes a silent partner. This exchange of looks creates strong tension.

"Risk is part of the fantasy," he explains. Fear of being seen adds excitement. This feeling lies at the heart of the practice. Adrenaline plays an important role in pleasure.

Exhibitionism can take many forms. Some practise it in semi-public spaces. Others choose designated areas. The boundary between private and public space matters greatly. Consent remains absolutely essential.

This practice has a history in the gay community. Spaces for sexual freedom have always existed. Saunas, backrooms, cruising areas: these venues allow desire to flourish. They offer a relatively safe framework.

However, exhibitionism outside these spaces raises questions. Where is the legal limit? In France, imposing sexual display is illegal. It is crucial to distinguish fantasy from actual practice.

Our witness stresses this point. He always seeks willing gazes. "I never want to impose anything," he says. This ethics of desire is fundamental to him.

Magazine Têtu features a full account on this subject. It addresses the psychological aspects of this practice. It also explores participants' emotions. Such testimony helps us understand sexual diversity better.

Speaking openly about these practices matters greatly. It breaks down taboos. It also better informs the LGBTQ+ community. Understanding your desire means knowing yourself better.
